It strikes me as odd when i see the amount of effort new parents put into their baby clothing, when they probably dont care what their wearing, just what their eating and where they're crawling :) Oh sure they might object to certain uncomfortable items of clothing, but if you start to dance like a lobster doing the jive then they will be giggling and clapping their hands before you can say "you just drooled on yourself again bubs' Not to be outdone though, parents love to discuss it all, even baby shoes. Not just baby shoes though, but also baby sneakers and ballet shoes! As if they would ever rightly be using these things to their potential! The really wierd part is that there is virtually nothing in adult shoes that you CANT get in baby shoes, and they can cost a pretty penny too.
Now i would assume that the function of baby shoes is slightly perpendicular to those of us tall folk, because there are a few things that they need to have as standard. They need to be extra resiliant to crawling and the occasional drool. Of course tall folks shoes go through miles and miles of walking a day, not to mention the odd jog, dance, pole vault and many other various activities. The simple fact is that baby shoes dont need to be this rugged, they simply dont do the miles or engage in the damaging activities, but this is not nessicerily why they are still sold by the dozon. Lets face it, everyone loves a cute baby.
Cuteyness comes about many ways with baby shoes, including our favourite, the miniatureness of the whole deal. I mean take a look cloesly, babies arent the most attractive creatures on the planet. They are pudgy, smelly, have big heads and spend most of their time drooling on or destroying things. The real fun about babies is that they are actually mini-people. The same thing can be said about baby shoes, they are smaller, pudgier versions of the things WE wear on our feet. Along with this cuteness, there are certain designs that are more popular among baby clothes, including baby shoes, than among adult clothing. Also, having a big purple butterfly or trillions of little hearts covering the baby shoes make for very popular decorative designs.
