Understanding Behavior of Babies |

As your babies grow and learn new tricks ever other day, you may experience certain behavior patterns in them. Always remember that it is impossible to spoil babies when they are just toddlers. Just be there for them as and when they cry. If this is what you do then you are raising a healthy and happy child. So, you have just become a mom and are showered with loads of advice from all directions regarding how to raise your child. But remember to follow the right advice for your babies. No matter whatever the people say, you are the best judge for your babies. It is perfectly normal that you are worried about the baby care thing as you have just become a mom. Understanding your baby’s behavior is the first thing that every mom should care of. While babies cry they need something. Perhaps they are hungry, sleepy, have drained the nappy or just want you to pick them up. Never hesitate to pick babies up while they cry. It gives them emotional support and develops great relationships between parents and child in the near future. Getting spoiled is just a myth. You will harm the baby’s emotional development by neglecting him while he cries and needs you.
Don’t say "no" to babies frequently. Have you ever imagined why babies say "no" to almost anything you want them to do? It is because you do the same with them. Don’t kill their curiosity if babies want to touch and feel every other shiny object. Instead teach them to be gentle and say a fierce "no" when he runs to the fireplace or sharp objects. Wonder why babies cry in your absence? It is because of separation anxiety. If babies see any object and after some time don’t find it anywhere then the image circles in their mind. Babies simply cannot digest being separated from any object they like, even you. If babies watch there moms for a second and they vanish at the other, babies are liable to think that there caring moms have disappeared in to thin air and will never come back. That is the reason why babies follow their moms ever where they go. To relieve them of these separation anxieties play hide-and-seek with them and hide at familiar places. Assure them that you will come back while kissing them good night. Don’t know how to stop babies from crying? Have done all the tantrums but in vain? Rock the baby to sleep. Drive your babies and they will fall asleep because of the motion of the car. Put them on your shoulder and move to and fro in the room. Feed your baby even if he is not hungry, it will calm him. Give him a warm bath to make him sleep afterwards. Distract his attention with any toy or activity. Play with him. Be a baby to amuse him. If you want to rid your baby from sucking his thumb then don’t fret. This habit will disappear without much of a nagging. While babies are sucking their thumbs, try involving them in some other kinds of activities. Be calm in front of them to avoid getting them anxious and again start sucking their thumbs. |
